White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will brief reporters Thursday afternoon, a day after President Trump signed legislation ordering the Justice Department to release all files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump’s reversal on the disclosures last Sunday was unexpected after he asked Attorney General to launch an investigation into potential ties between top Democrats and Epstein. The House and Senate overwhelmingly voted to advance the “Epstein Files Transparency Act” on Tuesday.
The press briefing also comes after the president unveiled a 28-point peace plan to bring an end to the more than three-year war between Russia and Ukraine and his meeting earlier this week with during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit has raised some questions.
The event is scheduled to being at 1 p.m. EST.
